Our Values
‘Care – Aspire – Excel’
Aims & Intent
Our curriculum is rooted in our core values ‘Care – Aspire – Excel’, which permeate all actions in our school. Further to this, our ‘Curriculum Aims’ are bespoke to our children and their individual needs.
Through careful weaving into the curriculum and wider school life, it is our intent that pupils at Hunton & Arrathorne Community Primary School will be:
- Lifelong readers
- Happy and healthy
- Inquisitive, with a thirst for knowledge
- Change-makers
- Risk takers
- Creators
Our Golden Rules
- Be Kind
- Be Safe
- Be Driven
The H&A 21
To further support and enrich our curriculum we have the ‘H&A 21 – twenty-one experiences which we are committed to ensuring children are involved in before they leave our school in Year 6. This enables us to interweave knowledge of our local area, gaps in pupil’s cultural capital and things are pupils are passionate about such as the environment, performance in music and drama and high quality learning in sport. This ensures children are ‘aspiring to excel’, not only in the curriculum, but in all aspects of school life which further helps secure our curriculum intent.
