Welcome to our school

It gives us great pleasure to welcome you to Hunton & Arrathorne Community Primary School. We are a small but highly ambitious school, situated in the village of Hunton. With 80 pupils on roll, we believe we are the perfect size! Our school benefits from a family-feel, where all pupils benefit from highly positive relationships with our excellent staff team. Unusually for a small school, children are taught across five classes which means pupils have access to a high pupil : staff ratio, a comprehensive and engaging curriculum and an outstanding personal development offer which places the child at the centre.

The children, governors and staff are all incredibly proud of Hunton & Arrathorne School and we hope this website gives you a flavour of what makes our school both unique and special. Our motto,’Caring – Aspiring – Excelling’ is central to all we do and is lived out through our golden rules and curriculum aims. It is our mission to create learners who, through care and positive relationships, can aspire to excel in all aspects of life.

In September 2023, OfSTED graded our school as ‘Outstanding’ in Personal Development, Early Years and Behaviour & Attitudes, with ‘Good’ gradings in ‘Quality of Education’ and ‘Leadership & Management’. It is our ambition to be graded ‘Outstanding’ at our next inspection.

If you require further information or would like to come and visit yourself, please do make contact with the school office. We would really love to meet you and show you around our very special learning environment.
